On February 2, the delegation led by General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, who is in Armenia on an official visit, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial, accompanied by staff from the Ministry of Defense and the Embassy of India in Armenia.

The delegation was welcomed by Edita Gzoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. After the official wreath-laying ceremony, the guests laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the innocent victims.

Subsequently, Ms. Gzoyan escorted the guests to the Armenian Genocide Museum, where guide Mary Yeghikyan presented the museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions, stopping specifically in front of a panel presenting Indian eyewitnesses of the Armenian Genocide and the efforts of Indian soldiers to save Armenian orphans. One orphan, the hero of such a story, was named Hrach Hndkazatyan (meaning "freed by India") as a token of gratitude.

At the conclusion of the tour, General Chauhan left a note in the Memory Book. Ms. Gzoyan thanked the delegation and presented the high-ranking guest with books about the Armenian Genocide. Reciprocally expressing gratitude for the reception and the detailed presentation of the exhibition, Mr. Chauhan presented the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute with a commemorative medal.
