Recently, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute published the monograph "Commemorating the Armenian Genocide" (408 pages, 160 mostly color photographs) by Dr. Harutyun Marutyan. Dr. Marutyan is the Head of the Department of "Study of Repression of Armenians in Artsakh, Nakhichevan, and Armenian-populated Regions of Azerbaijan" at the AGMI and a Chief Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the RA National Academy of Sciences. This is the Armenian version of the monograph published last November by the internationally renowned I.B. Tauris / Bloomsbury (London/New York).

The book details the formation, development, and modern state of the tradition of commemorating the victims of the Great Crime (Meds Yeghern)—the Armenian Genocide. It views the Armenian Genocide Memorial as a "place of memory" (analyzing its individual sections in detail), delves into the origin and development of the slogan "I Remember and Demand," and further examines the challenges of transmitting the memory of the Armenian Genocide in the 21st century.

The author has dedicated the monograph to the bright memory of the heroes of the 1915 self-defense of Van.

The book is intended for historians, ethnographers, specialists dealing with genocide memory issues, and a wide range of readers.
