The delegation led by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, who arrived in Armenia on a state visit, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial. There, he was welcomed by the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to France Arman Khachatryan, and the Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI) Hrachya Tashchyan.
The presidents of the two countries laid wreaths at the monument eternalizing the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, after which other members of the delegation laid flowers at the eternal flame and honored the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide with a minute of silence.
Afterward, the guests approached the Memorial Wall, which contains small urns filled with soil taken from the graves of several intellectuals, political, and public figures who raised their voices in protest against the Armenian Genocide. Tour guide Hasmik Martirosyan presented their names to the guests, drawing special attention to the pro-Armenian activities of French figures Anatole France and Louis Dartige du Fournet.
At the conclusion of the visit, French President Emmanuel Macron made an entry in the Memory Book for Honorable Guests.
