A delegation led by Lumír Kantor, Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the Senate of the Czech Parliament, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial today, accompanied by Nazeli Baghdasaryan, Chair of the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs of the National Assembly of RA, and Petr Pirunčík, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Armenia.

The delegation was welcomed and accompanied during the visit by Hrachya Tashchyan, Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI). At the beginning of the visit, he presented the history of the construction, architectural features, and significance of the Armenian Genocide Memorial.

The guests from the Czech Republic laid flowers at the eternal flame, paying tribute to the memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide.

Afterward, members of the delegation took a tour of the permanent and temporary exhibitions, learning about the history of the Armenian Genocide, its execution, the human and cultural losses suffered by the Armenian people, as well as efforts aimed at preserving historical memory. At the conclusion of the tour, the head of the delegation made an entry in the Book of Honorable Guests of the Armenian Genocide Museum.

At the end of the visit, AGMI Acting Director Hrachya Tashchyan thanked the members of the delegation for their visit and presented delegation leader Lumír Kantor with an illustrated album of the Armenian Genocide Museum.
