From January 13 to 16, Edita Gzoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI), was in Leipzig on a working visit to participate in a workshop titled "Entangled Histories of Central and Eastern Europe and the Caucasus," organized by the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO) at the University of Leipzig.
She presented a report titled "The Forced Displacement of the Armenians of Artsakh: From Blockade to Forced Migration," in which she addressed the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan following the 2020 war—specifically from December 2022 to September 2023—and the subsequent forced displacement of the Armenians.
Within the framework of the visit, the AGMI Director delivered a public lecture at the University of Leipzig titled "Targeting Identity: The Forced Assimilation of Armenian Women and Children."
Edita Gzoyan held a separate meeting with the Director of the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe, during which the parties discussed opportunities for future cooperation.
