July 09, 2010
Today the delegation headed by Foreign Affairs State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation Peter Maurer visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial complex and put flowers at the monument of the Armenian genocide victims. Afterwards the delegation took a tour in the Armenian Genocide Museum.



June 23, 2010
The Faith and Order Standing Commission of the World Council of Churches (WCC) arriving to Armenia with an invitation of His Holiness Karekin II, visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial complex. 31 representatives of Christian Churches put flowers at the monument of the Armenian genocide victims. Afterwards the delegation took tour in the Armenian Genocide Museum and the clergymen left their impressions and blessings in the Commemoration Book.

A group of Turkish journalists visiting Armenia by the initiative of ‘International Hrant Dink Foundation’ had a tour in the Genocide museum and visited Tsitsernakaberd memorial of the Armenian genocide victims.

The Italian delegation headed by the chairman of the provincial council of Milan Bruno Dupei visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial complex and put flowers at the monument of the Armenian genocide victims. Afterwards the delegation took a tour in the Armenian Genocide Museum and left a note in the Commemoration Book. Bruno Dupei planted a fir at the Memorial Alley.

Deputy Director of AGMI Suren Manukyan took part in International Seminar: Homelands: What happens when diasporas come ‘home’? Hosted by Kultrans, University of Oslo and had a speech on genocide memory of Armenian repatriates.

Head of CSTO PA Council delegation Boris Gryzlov commemorated victims of Armenian Genocide, writing an entry to the Book of Memory.

The delegation of bishops from the Christian churches in Damascus headed by the primate of Armenian diocese from the Armenian Apostolic church in Damascos bishop T. Armash Nalbandyan visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial complex. The delegation laid a wreath at the monument of the Armenian genocide victims.

On the occasion of the massacre of Pontian Greeks the Greek community of Armenia and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Armenia Ionise Carintios visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial complex and laid wreaths to the memorial of the Armenian Genocide victims. Afterwards Ambassador Karintion visited Armenian Genocide museum.

The Chairman of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) Governing Board, the president of the Poland's Supreme Chamber of Control and Jacek Jezierski visited to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.




October 30, 2009
Today the Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergey Martinov, visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. The Belarusian delegation paid a tribute of respect to the victims of the Armenian genocide and put flowers at the memorial of the Armenian genocide. Then the Foreign Minister of Belarus planted a fir at the Memory Alley. The delegation took a tour of the Armenian Genocide Museum, where Mr. Martinov left a note in the Commemoration Book.




October 17, 2009
On October 16, the Association of the spouses of the foreign diplomats accredited in Armenia headed by Natalia Nalbandyan visited Tsitsernakaberd memorial of the victims of the Armenian genocide.

The spouses of the diplomats and woman diplomats paid a tribute at the memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian genocide and put flowers at the memorial of the victims. Afterwards the members of the “Association Welcome Armenia” planted a fir at the Memory Alley.

The women of the diplomats and the woman diplomats had a guided tour in the Armenian Genocide Museum, got acquainted with the history of the Armenian genocide in details, and left a note in the Commemoration Book.




October 13, 2009
On October 13th of 2009, at 14:00, in the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute the presentation of the illustrated book of the AGMI director Mr. HAYK DEMOYAN, entitled “Armenian Sport and Gymnastics in the Ottoman Empire” (in Armenian, 220 pages) was held. The history of sport and physical training among Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire is presented with more than five hundred photos.





August 21, 2009
On August 17-21, 2009; the researcher of the AGMI Mr. Suren Manukyan took part in a conference in Cultural Studies; titled "The Cultural Life of Catastrophes and Crises". The conference took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. The speech of Mr. Manukyan was based on the diaries of the Armenian Genocide Survivors and Memory of Great Catastrophe (Metz Eghern).




July 29, 2009
The representatives of Armenian and Turkish youth, “Tolerance through cultural and educational dialogues” program participants visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex and paid a tribute of respect to the victims of the Armenian genocide. They also took a tour in the Armenian Genocide Museum, where the Turkish representatives of the delegation left a note in the Commemoration Book. The program is implemented by “The future is yours” social organization with the assistance of US Embassy in RA and OSCE Office in Yerevan. The program aims at establishment of dialogue between Armenian and Turkish youth, based on tolerance and democratic values.

The AGMI organized a meeting with the famous Armenian-American historian, professor of sociology and leading expert in the Armenian Genocide studies, Prof. Vahakn Dadrian, who the other days received a presidential award for the significant contribution to the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. During the meeting was held an interesting discussion. At the end of the meet answers and questions followed among the young scholars of AGMI.

The AGMI organized a meeting with the German scholar Mr. Wolfgang Gust, who the other days received a presidential award for the significant contribution to the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. During the meeting was held an interesting discussion. At the end of the meet answers and questions followed among the young scholars of AGMI.




April 23, 2009
The annual press-conference of the Armenian Genocide Museum & Institute was held in the museum's Komitas hall. Hayk Demoyan, the director of AGMI, presented the main results of the AGMI activity during 2008-2009, which included: international cooperation, information about the new obtainments and enriching of the museum collection, particularly photos, old-printed books and albums, handwritten diaries and memoirs, other documents, publishing activities and others.

Hayk Demoyan took part in a symposium to assess the official report of the Genocide Prevention Task Force at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. This is the initiative of the editors of Genocide Studies and Prevention, published in partnership by The International Association of Genocide Scholars (“IAGS”), The International Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (“IIGHRS”) and The University of Toronto Press.

Mr. Hayk Demoyan, the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum – Institute, gave an interview to Mr. Matthew Collin, the correspondent for Al Jazeera television. Mr. Collin is the Caucasus Reporter of the Al Jazeera English –language service television.

In April, 2010, AGMI organizes an international conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. The special focus of the conference will be on the cultural genocide of the Armenian heritage in Turkey.

On April 22, 2010, The Armenian genocide museum opens a temporary exhibition titled “Armenian genocide: frontpage coverage in the foreign media”. The exhibition includes rare century old newspapers and magazines covering Armenian genocide on their frontpages.
