RA NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov Awarded the Director Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan and a Number of Employees of the Museum

On May 3, by Galust Sahakyan’s Order of April 2 for the awareness about the Armenian Genocide to the international community and contribution to the recognition of the Genocide the RA NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov handed an RA NA Medal of Honour to the Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan, and the NA President’s Memorial Medal to the Deputy Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Suren Manukyan.

Eduard Sharmazanov also handed awards to a number of employees of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
The Deputy Director on Museum Works of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Lusine Abrahamyan was awarded the RA National Assembly Diploma, guides of the Museum Haykuhi Gevorgyan, Anzhela Tevekelyan, Astghik Yedigaryan, guards of the Museum exhibits Arpine Aleksanyan, Varduhi Shogheryan, the Head of the Service Department of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Structure Tumas Tumasyan were awarded the RA NA President’s Letters of Appreciation.

The Vice President of the RA National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov, handing the awards and congratulating those awarded, thanked Hayk Demoyan, as well as the employees of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute for their large scale and patriotic work. In the RA NA Vice President’s word, due to the Museum employees’ professional and consistent work the tragedy occurred to the Armenians a century ago becomes accessible and understandable for numerous delegates who have visited the Museum from different corners of the world.

The Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan thanked the NA Vice President for the awards, noting that they oblige them to work better in future.

Afterwards the Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan on behalf of the Museum awarded the RA NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov James Bryce Golden Memorial Medal for supporting the events organized by the Museum on the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Centennial.

Temporary exhibitions dedicated to the Armenian Genocide

During 2015, within the framework of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the AGMI plans to organize nearly twenty different multilingual exhibitions of new scientific scholarship using modern technologies and design in different countries simultaneously. There will be accompanying exhibition leaflets, catalogues and booklets in Armenian and foreign languages. In parallel, the AGMI plans to publish memoirs and monographs in Armenian and foreign languages.

Mickayel Frenkulyan, had studied at the Oberlin college in USA. He was a professor at the American college of Sebastia. In 1915 he was arrested and killed. A victim of Armenian Genocide.
